Fred Milman joined David Shepard Associates, Inc. in 1985. Some of Fred's clients have included: Verizon, National Education Association, Hibernia Bank, America Online, Met Life, Ameritech, GMAC, Brookstone, Campbell Ewald, Classmates.com, PacifiCare, Great-West Life, St. Anthony Publishing, Best Programs, Atlas Editions (USA), Countrywide Credit, Western Publishing, Editions Atlas (Paris), Grolier Enterprises, U.S. NEWS Video, Integrity Music Inc., Hudson Valley Financial Services, The Sperry & Hutchinson Co, Kent Dental, SNET, Caterpillar, Wunderman Worldwide and the DMA.

The assignments have ranged from marketing audits and business analysis to strategic business planning, to analytics and forecasting, to database design and implementation, to starting direct marketing businesses.

Prior to joining David Shepard Associates, Inc. Fred was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Response Stratagems, the Direct Marketing division of Sacks & Rosen Advertising. Clients included: American Express Merchandise Services, Hamilton Watch, Conde Nast, and House and Garden.

Fred’s most recent client experience was at Simon & Schuster where he was Chief Operating Officer of Simon & Schuster Enterprises (the direct marketing division of Simon & Schuster) from 1981 to 1984. Fred's prior experience includes management positions at Ogilvy & Mather Direct and Stone & Adler. He has personally supervised such clients as: Peugeot, 3M, Mead Data Central, IDS, Bowery Savings Bank, Monex, Coopers & Lybrand, S.R.A., and Better Homes and Gardens Publishing. His other client side experience was at Parents' Magazine Book Clubs and Longines Symphonette. Fred started his professional career as a technical writer for IBM.

Fred has a BS in Industrial Engineering from Ohio University and attended graduate school at Union College. He is active in the Direct Marketing Association and has served on the operating committee of the DMA's Marketing Council since 1986. Fred is a frequent speaker at DMA Conventions and other direct marketing functions including the first-ever Asian Direct Marketing Symposium in Hong Kong. Fred's honors have included receiving the DMA's coveted Echo Award.
