
A consultant to David Shepard Associates, Mr. Batra is currently Associate Professor, Graduate School of Business, Michigan University. Prior to this position he was Assistant Professor, Division of Marketing, Graduate School of Business, Columbia University.
Professor Batra received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1984 where he was a Merit Fellow from 1981 through 1983. He also holds a MS degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois and a BA, Honours in Economics from the University of New Delhi.
Professor Batra is the author of numerous articles that have been published in scholarly journals. From 1977 to 1979 he was Brand Manager at Chesebrough-Pond in India. He is an expert in the areas of Advertising, Market Research and Advanced Quantitative Methods, including the full range of multivariate techniques widely used in Direct Marketing. Along with David Shepard he teaches the DMA's course on Statistical analysis for Direct Marketers.
