
Prior to joining DSA, Sunil was Managing Director for Strategic Consulting and Customer Knowledge at Digital Lighthouse Inc., (DL) where his efforts were focused on launching interactive and analytical products for DL’s clients. At DSA Sunil will provide consulting services, concentrating on the strategic integration of interactive, analytical and database management services.
Before then Sunil was a Professor of Marketing, first at Columbia University, Graduate School of Business and then at the University of Michigan. During this 15-year period he published numerous papers in leading academic journals and gained recognition as a leading researcher in the areas of interactive marketing, predictive models and customer analysis.
Sunil has frequently presented the strategic implications of this research to corporate and academic audiences. Among the companies and organizations that Sunil has been invited to speak to or consult with are: Andersen Consulting, Agilent, Sony, H&R Block, Pitney-Bowes, the WPP Group, Intelliquest’s MKIS User Forum, Institute for International Research, Direct Marketing Association, Institute for the Study of Business Markets, The Roundtable Group, Hewlett-Packard, Forrester Research, Owens-Corning, Southern California Edison, Microsoft Corporation, Core Industries, CMP Publications, CFI Group, Business Strategy Network, and the Industry Canada.
Sunil is a member of the Direct Marketing Education Foundation’s Board of Trustees, serves as an instructor for the DSA/DMA’s New Direct Marketing seminar, and is the faculty director for University of Michigan’s Business Strategy for e-Commerce executive program. Reports based on various aspects of his research have appeared in newspapers and magazines around the world (e.g., New York Times, Time, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek (Japan), Asahi Shimbun (Japan), Multimedia Futures (U.K.), CNN, AP, UPI, among others).
